Fitphile founder Judy Kuan weighs in on how to incorporate physical movement with mental agility in “rainy day” activities for kids.

Muscle Matching.
 
Help little ones develop agility and flexibility. Model simple exercises for them and describe in words how to move. The child who copies the movement best gets to be “it” and choose the next movement.
 
“Kids can begin to develop their proprioceptive response,” suggests Judy Kuan of Adventure to Fitness. “They learn how the move ‘feels’ when done in proper alignment.”
 
This doesn’t just help build a stronger body. Using verbal and visual cues encourages development across the brain in cognition, balance and agility.
